What is Recycled Timber?

Recycled timber is a sustainable building material made from reclaimed wood, designed to meet the demand for eco-friendly, healthy living spaces. It offers the same or superior strength and water resistance as traditional plywood, making it both durable and environmentally responsible.

Sustainable Solutions

Materials: The wood strands are bonded with a formaldehyde-free binder for a safer, eco-friendly product.

Sourcing: Rather than clear-cutting and replanting large sections, trees are selectively harvested at intervals. This method thins the forest gradually, preserving ecosystem integrity while ensuring sustainable wood production.

What is a Laminate?

A laminate is like a stylish, layered material! It’s made by pressing multiple layers together—think strength on the inside and a decorative finish on top. Super versatile, laminates are used for kitchen countertops, furniture, and wall panels, adding texture and a sleek look to any space.

How is Formica Improving Sustainability?

Clean Energy: Formica uses renewable energy sources like wind, water, and solar power to manufacture laminates.

Eco-Friendly Materials: Formica uses renewable resources such as wood fibers instead of petroleum based.

Efficient Resource Use: The suppliers are pursuing a 7% reduction in Primary Energy Demand (production or operations) and an 8% reduction of Water Footprint.

What’s Special About This Carpet?

Milliken’s collection transforms reclaimed fishing nets, carpets, and nylon waste into beautiful designs that embodies the principles of sustainability, turning what was once destined for landfills and oceans into high-quality flooring.

Carbon Neutral Production

The carpets are carbon neutral because they balance out the carbon emissions generated during the production process. This is done by investing in projects that reduce or remove carbon emissions elsewhere, such as renewable energy projects or reforestation efforts.

Alongside this, Milliken reduces the carbon footprint of its products by using recycled materials and minimizing waste, ensuring a more environmentally friendly production process
